When Gregg Colp Distiller savoured his first taste of 50 year old Armagnac he knew then that he too wanted to produce something that would stand the test of time. Shield Maiden is that product - Below The Salt Distillery's own category - a barley wine brandy created with the still and techniques that Gregg designed.
Often likened to a brandy or single malt whiskey, we age our Shield Maiden in French Oak barrels employing the solera method. We invite everyone to experience this taste of Nova Scotia.
